Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups of gluten-free all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon of sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of instant dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder (optional for extra flavor)
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil
  • 3/4 cup of warm water (around 110°F/43°C)
  • 1 teaspoon of apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon of xanthan gum (for better texture)

Instructions:

  1. Activate the Yeast: In a small bowl, combine the warm water, sugar, and dry yeast. Stir and let sit for about 5 minutes until it becomes frothy.
  2. Mix the Dry Ingredients: In a larger mixing bowl, combine the gluten-free flour, salt, garlic powder (optional), and xanthan gum. Whisk until all the dry ingredients are well incorporated.
  3. Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients: Once the yeast mixture is frothy, add it to the dry ingredients along with olive oil and apple cider vinegar. Mix well until the dough comes together. If the dough feels too dry, add a bit more warm water, a tablespoon at a time.
  4. Knead the Dough: Lightly flour your hands or work surface with more gluten-free flour. Knead the dough for a few minutes until it becomes smooth and slightly elastic.
  5. Let the Dough Rise: Cover the dough with a clean kitchen towel or plastic wrap and let it rise in a warm place for about 30-45 minutes or until it has doubled in size.
  6. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C). If you have a pizza stone, place it in the oven to heat up; otherwise, you can use a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  7. Shape the Crust: Once the dough has risen, punch it down gently and transfer it onto a piece of parchment paper. Roll the dough out to your desired thickness, shaping it into a round or rectangular pizza crust.
  8. Pre-bake the Crust: Place the dough (on the parchment paper) onto the preheated pizza stone or baking sheet. Bake for 10-12 minutes until the edges begin to turn golden and crispy.
  9. Add Toppings: After pre-baking, remove the crust from the oven and add your favorite gluten-free pizza sauce, cheese, and toppings.
  10. Bake the Pizza: Return the pizza to the oven and bake for another 10-15 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the crust is perfectly crispy.
  11. Serve & Enjoy: Let the pizza cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving. Enjoy your homemade, gluten-free pizza with a deliciously crispy crust!
